It is a nice feeling to live your live with some philantropy in it and to contribute where you can. All the tips that Simply canvas receives are donated to a project for children together with an extra donations from ourselves at the end of the season. In 2010 we visited a beautiful project in Laos (the country where Santi was born). The organisation we work together with is called Friends International. They help lots of children in a self sustainable way. Should you ever visit Vientiane, the main city of Laos, don't forget to have dinner at Makhphet. This is a restaurant founded by Friends International. It is completely run by ex street children. In this way they receive a place to live, an education to become cook or waiter and they learn foreign languages. It offers them very good perspectives for the future. Besides this Friends International offers other help in the form of alcohol and child abuse prevention, after school activities and housing. They reunite parents and street children again where possible.  Click here for a small movie about their work.
